This Hand-Blown glass was heated and melted over a Gamal Root Base The Gamal Tree grows all over the Islands of Indonesia. We use the Gamal trees from the Eastern side of Bali. The main uses are for feeding of the goats and buffalo in that region. We recycle the fallen tree trunks and branches by cutting and polishing into slabs. We use the root sections to make the bases for our Hand-Blown Glass Vessels. Each root base is cut, cleaned and kiln dried. Then an Indonesian Artisan blows and fires a glass vessel to perfectly form onto each base. The “fired” glass takes the unique shape of the root base and becomes one.
